What is Scalez and Tailz.... You ask???

What Is Scalez & Tailz?

One baby iguana. One unexpected “yes.” A whole world of possibilities.

Scalez & Tailz started long before there was a website, a hoodie, or a claymation version of me running around with a Komodo dragon.

It started when my brother gave me a baby iguana.

My mom actually said yes to keeping it. A major plot twist. Then, as if the universe had decided to sponsor my first reptile adventure, there was an empty aquarium in the trash room of the apartment building where I grew up in Queens.

A lizard. Permission. An aquarium.

For a kid with a growing animal obsession, that felt like destiny.

That little iguana opened the door to a lifelong fascination with animals and the worlds they inhabit. Curiosity became years of learning, caring for animals, working in pet stores, and helping people with their aquariums. Along the way, music, art, gaming, and storytelling became just as much a part of who I am.

Today, those passions have reached the same intersection.

Apparently, none of them believe in stop signs.

Welcome to the collision.

I’m Reptile Dude DMV, founder of Scalez & Tailz. This is where my love for animals meets my need to create and where you’re invited to explore what happens next.

Here, you’ll find animal inspired merch, aquarium services, creative educational downloads through Scalez & Tailz Academy, and an expanding world of original art, animation, and stories.

You might arrive for a hoodie and discover a creature you’ve never heard of. Come for a coloring book and leave with questions about its real-life habitat. Or meet my sidekick, Peewee the Komodo dragon, and wonder how an ordinary day in the lab turned into all of this.

That’s the idea behind Conservation Imagination: use creativity and a little spectacle to get people curious about the living world and give that curiosity somewhere meaningful to go.

We’re building toward something bigger.

The dream is a place where animal education, immersive exhibits, art, and hands-on discovery come together. A place that gives someone else the spark that baby iguana gave me.

We’re still building it. Every purchase helps support the work. Every share introduces someone new. And every person who gets curious becomes part of the story.

Every Hoodie Fuels the Dream.

Take a look around. Find something that makes you smile, ask a question, or see an animal differently.

My story started with an unexpected “yes.”

Who knows what yours might start with?
